Veterans and Suicide - We Must Overcome

VETS PREVAIL - For Vets, By Vets

Vets Prevail was created by 2 friends Richard Gengler, a combat veteran, and Roger Sweis, a mental health care administrator. They recognized the urgent need to address Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) which has became a national mental health care epidemic.

"The current mental health care crisis facing our service members is a very real problem with very real consequences. As a veteran-owned company, we have a personal stake in the matter and intend to help all veterans that are in need while without ever charging a veteran or military family member,"says Richard Gengler, CEO of Prevail Health Solutions LLC, the parent company of Vets Prevail.

They have gathered the top experts of mental health care professionals and utilized their  skills to help Vets suffering from PTSD, depression and anxiety right in the privacy of their own home via the web. This new reach out program, I think is going to make such a tremendous difference when it comes to support for our veterans. Many may not realize our vets wont share their experiences with persons who have not experienced war themselves, which is a majority of our psychiatrists and therapist’s. The best healing happens when vets heal together. Another great aspect of the organization is the way they can help a returning vet during their reintegration process, our vet’s came from a world much different than ours.

Their work has been recognized and supported by the National Science Foundation's Small Business Innovation Research Program and the McCormick Foundation.  Vets Prevail offers a great online community with blog’s written by veterans for veterans, a forum with current and active threads, and online training.

The online training offers activities, the connection to be able to chat with other vets, share stories and ask questions.  It also offers rewards for those who complete classes   Many positive reviews were written by soldiers who went through the classes one had this to say,. “Talking to other veterans and trainers during the training showed me how to use the lessons from the program in my day-to-day life. ~Sergeant, US Army
