Wounded Warriors

It's time we give a little more,... in the begining of the war Operation Iraqi Freedom the spouces of the deployed Marines put together hundreds of recovery baskets in anticipation of wounded Marines that would be coming back home. The purpose behind these baskets was to provide the wounded with personal items to be used during their hospital stay and to help fill up their days while being confined in the hospitals.

However the are running out of the needed items to...

Posted by Army Infantry Mom on Wednesday, April 27, 2011, In : Holidays

Memorial Day Weekend

Memorial day, Once called Decoration Day began to honor the fallen Union Soldiers that lost their life during the American Civil War. It should be not only a day of remembrance, but a day to revisit the important places that history was built on and to share those history lessons with our children. These stories of hardship, heartbreak, sacrifices and loss should never be forgotten, for it is what makes us free people as a nation, a gift that is immeasurable. I kn...

Review: "Gulf War Syndrome - Killing Our Own"

Posted by Army Infantry Mom on Wednesday, April 27, 2011,

Gulf War Syndrome

I just got done watching one of the most informational films regarding GWS Gulf War Syndrome and just wanted to share it with you. This film starts off with a powerful radio address given by President Kennedy July 26th, 1963 speaking of hope, remembering 18 years back into the past the Vietnam War, when nuclear weapons changed the course of the road. He spoke of the radioactive hazards and the effects it would have beyond his lifetime. It reminds me of how important i...

I often here people saying I have the toughest job in the world,...Being a Military Mom. Well tonight, I realized I don't have the toughest job,..You know who does ? The little Military kid's who don't understand the concept of war, and even those who can't even spell the word war. I was absolutely traumatized when I hugged my JB before he left to go to Afghanistan, The emotions I felt, words just can't describe. I didn't know what to do with ...

My Rant,...

If you follow me, read my blogs or we just have talked, this pic here shows what I have been ranting about,..The pic tells the story.

It tells a story that veterans and true patriots, no matter how battered and beaten will stand up out of Appreciation for a U.S. Service Member that passes them.

HOWEVER,... They are those, who show no respect, nor gratitude. Perhaps its because they personally are unaffected by these wars past or present, perhaps none of their relatives se...

A plea from a Soldier's Mom

This hub is a personal plea from me, a Soldier's Mom to you, My son, just like yours is my pride and joy, and I love him so much, just as you love yours. My son, like many others sons and daughters went to war, he at the age of 19, stepped up to that plate and signed his name on that blank check," for any amount and up to my life". They do this unselfishly, for me, for you and the ones we love,...

I have had the absolute Honor of working with a terrific guy named Spencer. Spencer is a Vietnam Veteran and is also the Man behind the Generations of Warriors Project. He as like many others who have experienced war, knows the many battles they face, especially when the boots come off. He has a desire, like many other older Vet's, to reach out to our Vet's coming home today from the Afghanistan and Iraq Wars. He wants to raise awareness throughout the country, that...

This hub is really long over due, there is a horrible crime taking place and like so many important stories the main news media seemed to by pass it. The crime is perpetrated by false organizations that claim your donation will go to the troops, to a wounded soldier, to the police and/or fire fighters funds. With the economy suffering, people are struggling each and everyday to make ends meet, but some find it in their hearts to give donations. The criminals know this and...

Well in 18 more days my son JB will be boarding a plane homeward bound. His deployment will be over and life can start becoming normal again. I can't express just how proud I am of him. This past year has taken a toll on me emotionally, mentally and physically and spirtually. The night before he...

Fort Hood Shooting

Coming together through a tragedy is what makes us stronger, it's what keep us going, even we when we feel as if we've been kicked in the gut. Kicked in the gut is how I think most of us feel after the attack on Fort Hood. There is nothing we can do, to turn back the hands of time, to bring back those that we lost and loved so very much, but we can support those that they loved so very much, in Honor of them.
